TCS partners with Amadeus to build airline retailing platform, deepen AI-led travel tech push

On March 19, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) unveiled a significant global strategic alliance with Amadeus, aiming to create state-of-the-art airline retailing solutions and enhance digital transformation within the travel sector. This partnership leverages TCS’s strengths in artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and data analytics, seamlessly integrating them with Amadeus’ advanced travel technology platforms. The goal is to modernize airline retailing and service frameworks on a global scale. A key feature of this collaboration is the development of a Service Centre User Interface for Amadeus’ Nevio platform. This next-generation system is set to revolutionize how airlines manage offers, orders, and customer interactions. Arun Pradeep Surendra Mohan, who oversees the Travel, Transportation & Hospitality sector for TCS in EMEA and APAC, remarked, "This global strategic partnership with Amadeus is a pivotal move toward redefining travel technology. By merging Amadeus’ robust platform capabilities with TCS’s expertise in AI, cloud solutions, and expansive transformations, we are advancing beyond traditional integration into genuine co-innovation." The interface will be crafted as a cloud-native software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, integrating seamlessly with Amadeus Nevio. It aims to empower airline customer service representatives with AI-driven insights to create personalized, real-time retail experiences. The two companies noted that this platform will enhance offer and order lifecycle management, utilizing AI-guided workflows to bolster operational efficiency, minimize handling times, and boost revenue through strategic upselling. Cyril Tetaz, Amadeus’ executive vice president for airline solutions, emphasized TCS’s stature as one of the world’s largest technology service providers, particularly highlighting its expertise in travel through the Tata Group's airline operations. He stated, "Our strategic partnership will expedite the rollout of transformative travel technology for our global customers, enabling them to deliver an enhanced retail experience for air travelers." In addition to developing the platform, TCS will assist in the deployment of Amadeus Nevio across various airlines, focusing on quicker implementations and deeper integration within airline contact center ecosystems. The partnership is projected to evolve into other facets, including airport operations and broader travel ecosystem platforms in the future.
