Elon Musk, founder of xAI, the company behind Grok, has previously encouraged users to engage the chatbot in generating humorous insults. An xAI spokesperson recently claimed in an interview that Grok positions itself as a 'non-woke' alternative in the chatbot market. However, the legal implications of the incident are serious; under Swiss law, individuals can face up to three years in prison or hefty fines for intentionally publishing offensive material. The anonymous user who initiated the request deleted their prompt within two days of the incident, asserting that their intention was merely to conduct a 'technical exercise' rather than to harm Keller-Sutter. Nonetheless, Keller-Sutter's determination to combat misogyny may lead to the unmasking of this individual. Legal experts, including criminal law professor Monika Simmler, have noted that there is a strong possibility of prosecuting those who create such prompts, even if the posts are later removed.
