Swiggy, renowned for transforming food and grocery delivery in India, is now expanding its reach into the lifestyle sector with the launch of its concierge app, Crew. This service, which began as a pilot program, is now accessible in major cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, and the National Capital Region (NCR). This expansion reflects Swiggy's ambition to establish itself as a comprehensive platform for on-demand premium services. Rohit Kapoor, the CEO of Food Delivery at Swiggy, recently shared an update on LinkedIn regarding Crew's progress. He emphasized that users are increasingly utilizing the app to simplify both everyday tasks and unique experiences. Crew offers a wide range of services, from securing coveted restaurant reservations and organizing gifts to managing Aadhaar updates, planning travel itineraries, hosting birthday parties, and arranging airport transfers. The app is designed to enhance the lives of busy urban consumers by streamlining their day-to-day activities. Kapoor's insights highlight a growing trend in India, where time-constrained professionals are seeking out concierge services that combine AI-driven convenience with personalized human support. He pointed out that these services cater to a new demographic that prioritizes experience and efficiency over manual effort. Additionally, Phani Kishan Addepalli, Co-founder of Swiggy, described Crew as “Swiggy’s boldest step yet towards becoming the operating system for modern living.” He noted that the service is already transforming the concept of convenience for its early adopters across the country, reflecting Swiggy's broader strategy of developing an integrated ecosystem for its users.
