Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, is set to receive a staggering pay package potentially valued at $692 million. According to a recent filing disclosed by the Financial Times, Alphabet has devised a three-year compensation plan that positions Pichai among the highest-paid executives globally. However, a significant portion of this package is contingent on performance metrics, including stock incentives linked to Waymo and Wing, Alphabet's drone delivery service. While Pichai is poised for substantial earnings, it is intriguing how he garners less public attention compared to Google’s co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Recently, Page and Brin have made headlines for their extravagant real estate investments in Miami, which many interpret as a strategic move in response to California’s proposed Billionaire Tax Act. This legislative initiative seeks to impose a one-time 5% tax on billionaires with a net worth exceeding $1 billion. Specifically, Page is reported to have spent over $173 million on two luxurious properties in Coconut Grove, Florida, while Brin has been linked to a $51 million mansion just 14 miles away, following earlier purchases totaling $92 million. In stark contrast, Pichai's public persona remains understated, with his residence in Los Altos, California, largely out of the spotlight. Despite this, he too is a billionaire, with Google’s market value soaring nearly sevenfold since he assumed leadership in 2015. His accumulated shares are estimated to be worth around $500 million, with an additional $650 million reportedly sold as of last summer, according to Bloomberg's estimates.
