This new trailer hints at a time jump in Season 5, Volume 1, poignantly coinciding with the third anniversary of Will's original disappearance from the first season. In Volume 1, viewers witnessed Hawkins under military control, with Vecna now targeting a fresh group of innocent children while masquerading as “Mr. Whatsit,” a subtle homage to A Wrinkle in Time. Holly Wheeler became a victim, abducted into the Upside Down, where she encountered Max, who, though comatose, was navigating her consciousness through Vecna’s past memories. Dustin grappled with the emotional fallout from Eddie Munson’s death in Season 4, straining his relationship with Steve.
