Amazon's eero has unveiled its latest innovation, the eero Signal 4G LTE, priced at $99.99. This new device acts as a reliable backup connection when traditional internet service fails, requiring an eero subscription for functionality. Users simply connect the eero Signal to any USB-C compatible eero device that supports Wi-Fi 6 or newer. In the event of an internet outage, the eero Signal automatically activates its cellular connection, seamlessly switching back to standby mode once regular service resumes. This feature is particularly beneficial for remote workers, individuals relying on security systems, or residents in areas with frequent outages. One of the standout benefits of the eero Signal is its cost-effective subscription model. Because the cellular connection is utilized only during outages, the pricing is competitive compared to typical 4G LTE plans. Customers can select from two subscription options at launch: a $99.99 annual eero Plus subscription that includes 10 GB of backup data, or the $199.99 eero Plus 100 plan offering 100 GB of data. Both plans come with discounted pricing upon initial device purchase. Looking ahead, eero plans to introduce a 5G variant of the Signal later this year for $199.99. Additionally, support for the device will extend to eero Business plans, expanding its utility for various users.
