Spotify has launched an enhanced subscription model in India, featuring three new Premium tiers aimed at providing users with increased flexibility and a tailored listening experience. The newly introduced plans—Premium Lite, Premium Standard, and Premium Platinum—cater to a diverse audience, from novice streamers to serious audiophiles craving superior sound quality. Premium Lite, available for Rs 139, is designed for users embarking on their ad-free streaming journey. Meanwhile, Premium Standard, priced at Rs 199, offers high-quality audio along with offline access to tracks, playlists, and podcasts. A discounted student version of this plan is also available for Rs 99. At the pinnacle of the offering is Premium Platinum, which retails for Rs 299. This tier introduces Lossless Audio to Indian subscribers for the first time, allowing music enthusiasts to enjoy tracks in full, uncompressed quality. Additionally, Premium Platinum includes advanced features such as an AI DJ, third-party DJ integrations, mixing tools, and access to AI-generated playlists. Subscribers will also benefit from two extra household seats, along with a comprehensive suite of personalized discovery options. Amarjit Singh Batra, General Manager for South Asia, Middle East, and Africa, and Managing Director of Spotify India, emphasized the company's shift from a one-size-fits-all approach. "We are evolving our Premium subscription portfolio to better reflect the varied ways that people enjoy music in India. Each listener is unique, and by offering more choices, flexibility, and control—from Lite to Platinum—we ensure that everyone can enjoy Spotify in a manner that resonates with their lifestyle and strengthens their relationship with the music and artists they love," he stated.
