You can now share Spotify songs straight to WhatsApp Status on Android

Spotify has unveiled an exciting new feature for Android users that enables them to share their favorite songs and media directly to their WhatsApp Status. This functionality mirrors the existing options available for Instagram and Facebook users, allowing seamless sharing from the music streaming platform to the social media app. According to a recent blog post by the Swedish company, users can now showcase whatever they are currently enjoying—be it music, playlists, podcasts, albums, artist clips, or audiobooks—on their WhatsApp Status for a duration of 24 hours. To utilize this feature, users simply need to select the share option next to the desired track or playlist within the Spotify app and choose WhatsApp from the list. The shared Status will display the title and cover art of the content, accompanied by an 'Open on Spotify' link that lets viewers access the track directly in their Spotify app. Additionally, listeners will have the opportunity to hear a brief audio preview of the track, helping them decide if it suits their taste. This feature will gradually roll out to users worldwide, both free and Premium, over the coming weeks. In the same announcement, Spotify highlighted seven other new ways to share its content with friends and family. Users can now send music, podcasts, and audiobooks as messages within the Spotify app itself. Enhancements have also been made to the Spotify sharing feature on Instagram, where viewers can listen to a short audio snippet of a song before deciding to engage with it. Instagram users can even share what they are currently listening to on Spotify in real-time through Notes. Spotify stated, "It’s a seamless way to showcase your newest obsessions or timeless favorites while also keeping up with your friends’ finds." Moreover, the company is collaborating with TikTok to provide a similar sharing experience for music, podcasts, and audiobooks. A comparable feature will also be available on Snapchat, enabling users to share audio clips from Spotify directly on their Snapchat Stories or via direct messages to friends.
