Spotify, the popular streaming service, is currently experiencing significant disruptions affecting users around the world. According to data from Downdetector, reports began to surge around 8:04 PM, with over 1,200 individuals in India noting difficulties accessing the platform. The situation appears to be even more critical in the United States, where more than 30,000 complaints have been logged on Downdetector, with peak reports occurring at approximately 9:15 AM Eastern Time. Canada is also feeling the impact, with over 3,000 users reporting issues, particularly around 9:17 AM ET. The breakdown of complaints indicates that 70% of users are struggling with server connection issues, while 16% have noted problems with the search functionality, and 14% are facing audio streaming difficulties. In a response to these widespread issues, Spotify acknowledged the situation through their ‘SpotifyStatus’ page on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!” Users have taken to Reddit to voice their frustrations. One mentioned, “I can still listen but can’t search for artists or see my own profile.” Another user shared their struggle, stating, “I can’t even log into the website to set up a new month of premium, so they are having massive problems.” A third user expressed their desperation, saying, “Someone please fix this before I’m left to my own thoughts or coworker conversations.” As Spotify works to resolve these issues, users might want to explore alternative streaming services for the time being.
