Spotify’s AI DJ now supports French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese

Spotify has announced a significant update to its AI DJ feature, now offering support for four additional languages: French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Previously, users could only interact with the AI DJ in English and Spanish, but this expansion marks a pivotal step toward inclusivity. The AI DJs, each with unique names and personalities tailored to their respective languages—Maia, Ben, Alex, and Dani—are now available in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland. With this enhancement, the AI DJ can now reach over 75 countries, further broadening its global appeal. Originally designed to provide commentary while playing user-selected tracks, Spotify's AI DJ has evolved into a more interactive experience. In May 2025, the service introduced features allowing users to chat with the AI and request changes in mood or genre. This interactivity is now reminiscent of how advanced AI chatbots like ChatGPT or Claude operate, allowing users to engage in a more dynamic listening experience. Additionally, Spotify continues to enhance its app with AI capabilities, including the ability to create bespoke playlists by simply describing desired content. This evolution reflects Spotify's commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into its platform, ensuring that users enjoy a personalized and engaging music experience.
