iPhone 17 Pro series leak suggests major design overhaul: What to expect

As excitement mounts for Apple's anticipated flagship smartphones, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are set to make their grand entrance this September, alongside the standard iPhone 17 and a new variant known as the iPhone 17 Air. Recent leaks have provided a tantalizing first look at what could be a dramatic redesign for the Pro models. A newly surfaced render, shared by trusted leaker Majin Buon X, reveals the potential rear design of the iPhone 17 Pro lineup encased in transparent covers. One of the standout features of this design is the revamped camera layout. Moving away from the traditional square module seen in the iPhone 16 Pro, the new design features an elongated camera bar that spans the width of the device, likely accommodating three advanced lenses to enhance photography and videography. Another significant change is the repositioning of the Apple logo. Rather than its usual central placement, the logo appears lower on the rear panel in the leaked image. This adjustment seems to align with modifications to the MagSafe system, which now features a gap in the signature magnetic ring, suggesting a possible redesign of the internal charging architecture. The chassis is also rumored to be upgraded. The render indicates that the iPhone 17 Pro models might sport an aluminum frame with a cut-out section beneath the camera bump, potentially allowing for a glass insert to improve wireless charging capabilities. This could indicate a shift in material use or structural design aimed at enhancing thermal management and weight distribution. On the hardware front, both the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to be equipped with Apple's A19 Pro chip, coupled with a robust 12GB of RAM. Display sizes are anticipated to vary slightly, with the Pro model featuring a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max boasting a larger 6.9-inch display. Additionally, there are reports of a new vapor chamber cooling system to better manage heat during demanding tasks. While Apple has yet to officially confirm these features, the increasing number of leaks and design hints suggest a bold new approach to both the aesthetics and functionality of the iPhone series.
