Snapchat has officially announced the launch of its creator subscription service, which is currently in an alpha phase and available to select users in the United States starting February 23. This new feature allows users to purchase subscriptions to their favorite creators, such as Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey, and Skai Jackson, enabling fans to access exclusive content while providing new monetization avenues for creators. Creators on the platform can determine their own subscription prices, with Snap offering suggestions for various tiers. Subscribers will gain access to exclusive content, priority responses to a creator's public Stories, and an ad-free experience when viewing those Stories. Snap emphasized that this initiative is designed to enhance existing monetization strategies, following the Unified Monetization Program and the Snap Star Collab Studio. In a blog post, the company highlighted that creator subscriptions introduce a premium layer of interaction, enhancing how users engage with creators through Stories, direct messaging, and replies. As of its Q4 2025 report, Snapchat boasts 946 million daily active users, with a notable 47% increase in U.S. users posting to Spotlight year-over-year. Furthermore, the company has plans to extend this subscription model to Snap Stars in Canada, the U.K., and France in the near future. This move comes as rivals, including Meta, have already implemented similar subscription features on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, allowing creators to offer exclusive content and badges to subscribers.
