Upcoming smartphones in August 2025: Google Pixel 10, Vivo V60 and more tipped

August 2025 is set to be an exciting month for smartphone lovers in India, with numerous noteworthy launches across various price segments. From high-end flagship devices to more affordable options, consumers will have plenty of choices focused on enhanced camera capabilities, extended battery life, and general upgrades. At the forefront of these anticipated releases is the Google Pixel 10 series, confirmed to make its global debut on August 20, including availability in India. This year’s lineup is particularly expansive, featuring four models: the standard Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the innovative foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold. All models are expected to utilize the new Tensor G5 chip, believed to be manufactured by TSMC, which could result in improved performance and efficiency. The base Pixel 10 is rumored to showcase a 6.3-inch OLED display and a sophisticated triple-lens rear camera setup, boasting a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto sensor—a first for the series. The Pro and XL versions are anticipated to offer up to 16GB of RAM and larger display sizes. Additionally, the foldable variant, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, might feature an upgraded 6.4-inch cover screen and larger battery capacity compared to its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Vivo V60 is set to launch in India on August 12. Expected to be a rebranded version of the Vivo S30 from China, this device is likely to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. It is also expected to house a massive 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support, along with a triple-lens camera system co-developed with Zeiss, featuring a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope lens capable of 3x optical zoom, plus a 50MP front-facing camera. Scheduled for launch on August 4, the Vivo Y400 is positioned as a mid-range 5G smartphone. Speculated features include a 6.67-inch AMOLED display and robust IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It is expected to be powered by a 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor in its rear camera setup, running on Android 15 with FuntouchOS. The device may also support a 6,000mAh battery with 90W charging, available in appealing Glam White and Olive Green finishes. Additionally, the domestic brand Lava is gearing up to unveil its flagship Agni 4, although the exact launch date remains unconfirmed. This new model is expected to shift from its predecessor's dual-screen design to a single 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will likely be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 chipset and include UFS 4.0 storage. Design expectations suggest a flat-edged frame and a dual-camera setup on the rear, with a substantial 7,000mAh battery, likely priced around ₹25,000. Stay tuned for further updates on these exciting smartphone launches as they unfold throughout August!
