In a significant move for its AI initiatives, ServiceNow has announced a multi-year collaboration with Anthropic, a prominent AI research lab, just one week following its partnership with OpenAI. This strategic alliance aims to integrate Anthropic’s advanced AI models more deeply into ServiceNow's offerings, enhancing the experience for its customers and employees alike. While specific details regarding the partnership's duration and financial aspects remain undisclosed, the deal establishes Anthropic’s Claude model family as the preferred AI framework for ServiceNow’s workflow products. Notably, Claude will serve as the foundational model for ServiceNow Build Agent, a tool designed to empower developers in creating intelligent workflows and applications. The partnership also facilitates the deployment of Claude across ServiceNow’s workforce of 29,000 employees, along with access to Claude Code, Anthropic’s innovative coding tool for engineers. Bill McDermott, ServiceNow's chairman and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "ServiceNow with Anthropic is turning intelligence into action through AI-native workflows for the world’s largest enterprises. Together, we are proving that deeply integrated platforms with an open ecosystem are how the future is built." This announcement follows closely after ServiceNow's agreement with OpenAI, which provided customers access to OpenAI’s models through its products. Amit Zavery, ServiceNow’s president, COO, and CPO, emphasized the company's commitment to a multi-model strategy, asserting that these partnerships are not seen as competing entities. "Enterprise customers want model choice. They want the right model for the right job—keeping governance, security, and auditability consistent on the ServiceNow AI Platform," he explained. The deal with Anthropic is among several recent partnerships for the company, which has also secured significant agreements with Allianz, Accenture, IBM, Deloitte, and Snowflake. Despite challenges in demonstrating measurable returns on AI investments, industry experts anticipate improvements in this area by 2026, marking a hopeful outlook for the sector.
