Senate staff probes DOGE, finds locked doors and windows covered with trash bags

A recent investigation led by Senate Democratic staff has uncovered serious allegations against DOGE, involving the unauthorized upload of a highly sensitive Social Security Administration (SSA) database to an unmonitored cloud storage. Whistleblower testimonies point to a troubling pattern of behavior among DOGE officials, particularly during a site visit to the General Services Administration (GSA), where it appeared that certain areas were deliberately concealed from scrutiny. Previously, Chuck Borges, the former SSA Chief Data Officer, accused DOGE of creating a 'live copy' of the nation’s Social Security data in a way that bypassed critical oversight. Further claims from multiple whistleblowers suggest that Edward Coristine, a 19-year-old DOGE employee with a history of data leaks, along with other staff members, were allowed to transfer sensitive SSA information into the unmonitored cloud. This data includes personal details for every American who has held a Social Security number, encompassing Social Security numbers, dates and places of birth, work permit statuses, and parental information. The Senate report indicates that SSA's Chief Information Officers, Michael Russo and Aram Moghaddassi, approved this data transfer despite a significant internal risk assessment from June 12, 2025, which warned of a high risk of catastrophic impacts on SSA beneficiaries due to inadequate safeguards against unauthorized access. The assessment estimated a 35 to 65 percent likelihood of such catastrophic outcomes, raising alarm over the potential exposure of personally identifiable information on a massive scale.
