Schneider Electric’s new Copilot enhances open automation with Microsoft AI

Schneider Electric has introduced its latest innovation, the Industrial Copilot, developed in collaboration with Microsoft. This advanced system is seamlessly integrated into the EcoStruxure Automation Expert Platform and aims to enhance various operational tasks including application development, real-time recommendations, and ongoing maintenance. The AI-enabled assistant is designed to automate repetitive processes and foster better collaboration between engineers and operators. This initiative aligns with Schneider Electric's commitment to promoting open and software-centric automation systems that emphasize interoperability across diverse hardware and software frameworks. Utilizing Generative AI, the Copilot provides valuable system recommendations, predictive maintenance alerts, and troubleshooting assistance. These capabilities are geared towards minimizing operational downtime, reducing the necessity for manual input, and aiding in decision-making processes by leveraging real-time data. The platform supports a Unified Architecture, which facilitates integration across a range of industrial systems. Key functionalities include application whitelisting, system status notifications, and live data analytics. Arvind Kakru, Vice President of Industrial Automation at Schneider Electric India, stated that the Copilot embodies the company's dedication to fostering modular and open automation environments. He emphasized that the tool is specifically designed to streamline system deployment and cater to various industrial needs. The Industrial Copilot is now available through the EcoStruxure Automation Expert Platform, which serves as Schneider Electric’s primary automation framework. This versatile tool is compatible with a wide array of sectors and integrates well with Schneider Electric’s comprehensive product ecosystem. The rollout is part of the company's updated software suite in India.
