Sarvam, a burgeoning AI startup from India, is set to enhance its portfolio with a new initiative named 'Chanakya.' This vertical targets the application of AI solutions specifically catered to governments, enterprises, and other critical sectors where security and reliability are paramount. In a recent announcement shared via X (formerly Twitter), Sarvam disclosed that it has been diligently developing comprehensive AI capabilities over the past year. The goal is to tackle significant challenges that could impact national interests or large, intricate organizations. The company emphasized, "Applying our full-stack AI to problems of national consequence and complex enterprises. Now we're scaling the vertical behind it - Chanakya." The Chanakya system is engineered for deployment in air-gapped environments that are disconnected from the internet, ensuring enhanced security. This innovative AI solution is designed to process various data formats, including text and images, and autonomously execute AI workflows in demanding, real-world scenarios. Targeting organizations that prioritize robust security measures and do not depend on public cloud services, Chanakya is built with extensive security features. Notably, it supports a 'dual use' framework, enabling deployment across enterprise applications as well as strategic sectors such as defense and national security. As Sarvam continues to broaden its enterprise reach, it is rapidly expanding its AI service offerings. At the Indian AI Impact Summit 2026, the company introduced its first AI models, Sarvam-30B and Sarvam-105B, which cater to 22 Indian languages and have garnered attention for their competitive performance against global AI models. Additionally, Sarvam unveiled its AI-driven smartglasses, named Sarvam Kaze, along with an AI-first application called 'Indus.' Their efforts also extend globally, as Sarvam joins Nvidia’s Nemotron Coalition with other leading AI firms to collaboratively develop next-generation open foundation models, marking a significant step in their international strategy to influence the future of open and sovereign AI.
