In a strategic move to enhance its human resources offerings, SAP has confirmed its acquisition of SmartRecruiters, a leading recruitment software provider. Announced on Friday, this agreement marks a significant step for the European software powerhouse, which aims to integrate SmartRecruiters' intuitive interfaces and efficient workflows with its current HR toolkit. Muhammad Alam, a member of the SAP executive board overseeing product and engineering, emphasized the benefits of this acquisition. He stated that the integration will empower customers to oversee the entire candidate journey—from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding—all within a unified platform. This enhancement is designed to optimize the experience for recruiters, hiring managers, and most importantly, the candidates themselves. While the financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, the deal is anticipated to finalize in the fourth quarter of this year. Notably, SmartRecruiters previously secured $110 million in Series E funding in 2021, which elevated its valuation to $1.5 billion.
