Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 launched in India with Snapdragon 8 Elite processor

Samsung has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, at the recent Galaxy Unpacked event in India. This new device showcases significant hardware enhancements and a sleeker design, making it thinner and lighter compared to earlier models. At its core, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. When unfolded, it measures just 4.2mm and weighs in at 215 grams. The device boasts Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for the cover display and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear, ensuring durability. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the phone's triple rear camera system, which features a remarkable 200-megapixel primary sensor equipped with Quad Pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization. Additionally, it includes a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, there are two 10-megapixel cameras—one on the outer display and another hidden beneath the internal screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 operates on Android 16, enhanced with Samsung's One UI 8 interface. Its inner display measures 8 inches and features QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The external screen is 6.5 inches, offering full-HD+ resolution and similar refresh capabilities, presenting a 21:9 aspect ratio with a pixel density of 422ppi. New AI-driven features are also part of this device, including Gemini Live, AI Results View, Circle to Search, Drawing Assist, and Writing Assist. To boost imaging performance, Samsung has integrated an updated ProVisual Engine. Storage options for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 range from 256GB to 1TB, with RAM configurations available up to 16GB. Connectivity features include support for 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Security measures include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the device is housed in a robust Armour Aluminium frame. It retains an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, similar to the previous Z Fold 6 model. Powering the device is a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging, enabling a 50% charge in just 30 minutes. The phone also supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging through Wireless PowerShare. Available colors include Blue Shadow, Jetblack, and Silver Shadow, with an exclusive Mint variant for online buyers. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are now open in India, with pricing details expected to be announced soon. This model represents a significant evolution in design, measuring 8.9mm when folded, making it thinner than the Fold 6, which was 12.1mm folded and 5.6mm unfolded, and it is 24 grams lighter than its predecessor.
