Samsung introduces anti-shoulder surfing privacy screen, its likely to debut with Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has made a significant announcement regarding a groundbreaking privacy screen feature designed for its upcoming Galaxy devices. This innovative screen technology aims to protect users from "shoulder surfing," a term used to describe the act of someone peering at another person's device screen without permission. Expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026, this privacy screen is engineered to appear clear only to the user directly in front of it, effectively keeping prying eyes at bay. After five years of dedicated development, Samsung emphasizes that user privacy remains a top priority. In a recent press release, Samsung stated, "You’ll have the space to check your messages or enter a password on a packed commute without thinking twice about who might be watching." While the company has confirmed the introduction of this protective screen in future models, specific device names have not yet been disclosed. Notably, users will have the option to customize the privacy screen for select applications, including banking, email, or messaging. They can adjust visibility levels and choose which parts of the screen to protect, such as notification pop-ups. Furthermore, the feature has the capability to automatically shield the screen when sensitive information like passwords, PINs, or biometric data is being entered. The Galaxy S26 series is anticipated to include three models: the standard Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26 Plus, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. While the official launch date remains unconfirmed, Samsung is expected to reveal more details soon as the February 2026 launch date approaches.
