Samsung's One UI 8.5 Beta launched initially for S25 series users: Check all details

Samsung has initiated the beta program for its latest operating system, One UI 8.5, aimed at improving the user experience on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. This update, based on the Android platform, promises to enhance connectivity across devices and significantly bolster security features. Currently, the beta is exclusively available to users of the Galaxy S25 series in select regions. To participate in the beta testing phase, interested users can register through the Samsung Members app. One UI 8.5 comes packed with several notable enhancements designed to streamline content creation and sharing. Among the standout features is the upgraded AI Photo Editing capability, which allows users to edit images seamlessly with AI tools, eliminating interruptions during the process. Users can make multiple adjustments without needing to save the photo at each step. Once satisfied with their edits, they can review an edit history to choose their preferred version. Additionally, the popular Quick Share feature has been enhanced to intelligently recognize individuals in photos and suggest sending those images directly to the appropriate contacts, simplifying the sharing process. The update also aims to improve connectivity across the entire Galaxy ecosystem, facilitating easier access to files through a new feature called Storage Share. This feature lets users view and manage files stored on their other Galaxy devices, such as tablets and PCs, directly from their phone’s My Files app, ensuring quick access to documents regardless of the device. Moreover, the Audio Broadcast feature has seen significant upgrades, enabling users to utilize their Galaxy phones to broadcast audio to nearby compatible speakers or earbuds. This feature is particularly useful in group settings, such as guided tours or small events. Security has also been a major focus in One UI 8.5, with new controls to enhance device protection. New safeguards include Theft Protection and the Failed Authentication Lock, which locks the device's screen after multiple failed attempts to access it, thus safeguarding sensitive information from unauthorized access. The One UI 8.5 beta program is currently available to Galaxy S25 series users in several countries, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the U.S., starting from December 8th.
