Samsung has officially announced its rollout schedule for the highly anticipated One UI 8 update based on Android 16, targeting Galaxy device users in India. This update follows its previous release for Galaxy S25 owners worldwide, and the tech giant has detailed which devices will receive the update and when. The update schedule was shared through a notice in the Samsung Members app, listing a variety of compatible devices alongside their respective update timelines. Notably, last year's flagship Galaxy S24 series is set to receive the One UI 8 update next month, along with several tablets and other Galaxy models. In the upcoming months, select devices will be included in the final batch of updates, expected in November. The list of devices receiving the update includes popular models such as the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra, as well as multiple A-series and M-series devices. One of the standout features of One UI 8 is its integration with Google Gemini, which enhances the user experience by providing context-aware AI capabilities. This feature minimizes the need to switch between apps by automating tasks based on user activities, and it adapts to user habits to offer tailored suggestions and shortcuts. Additionally, Samsung is extending the AI functionalities first introduced with the Galaxy S25 series, such as Generative Edits and Chat Assist, to older devices. The update also enhances the Now Bar and Now Brief, allowing for live notifications from a broader array of applications. Another exciting addition is a revamped split-screen mode, reminiscent of the Open Canvas feature found in OnePlus devices. Unlike the traditional 50:50 split, this new functionality allows users to push one app to the edge of the display, maximizing the screen space for the primary application. As Samsung continues to innovate, users can look forward to a more seamless and efficient experience with their devices as the One UI 8 rollout progresses.
