Samsung has officially introduced its latest innovation, the Galaxy Z TriFold, marking a significant step in the foldable smartphone arena. This announcement comes alongside rumors that Apple is developing its own foldable device, potentially launching as soon as next year. The Galaxy Z TriFold features a meticulously engineered hinge mechanism designed specifically to address the unique requirements of a tri-fold device. Samsung has developed two distinct sized hinges featuring a dual rail structure, which work together to ensure a more seamless and stable folding experience. When unfolded, the device boasts an impressive 10-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, offering a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching 1,600 nits. The cover display, measuring 6.5 inches, is also a Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, capable of achieving a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The robust design is complemented by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front and Ceramic-Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer on the back. Under the hood, the Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, supporting configurations of 16 GB RAM and storage options of 512 GB or 1 TB. On the camera front, it features a formidable 200 MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide lens and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Additionally, there is a 10 MP cover camera and another 10 MP main shooter for high-quality selfies and video calls. The device is equipped with a substantial 5,600 mAh battery, supporting 45 W wired and 15 W wireless charging. Samsung claims that with the appropriate charger, the Z TriFold can charge from 0 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. Running on One UI 8 based on Android 16, the Galaxy Z TriFold promises seven years of OS updates and security patches, aligning with Samsung's commitment to its flagship devices. Available in a single Crafted Black color, this smartphone also features IP48 rating for water and dust resistance. The Galaxy Z TriFold will be priced at 3,594,000 won (approximately ₹2,19,000) for the 512 GB variant and is set to hit the shelves in Korea on December 12, followed by releases in other markets, including China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE.
