On Tuesday, Samsung revealed that its highly anticipated Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone is set to launch on January 30, carrying a hefty price of $2,899. This innovative device features a display that unfolds twice, showcasing an impressive 10-inch screen, marking it as the largest display ever seen on a Galaxy smartphone. At just 3.9 millimeters thick at its slimmest point, the Galaxy Z TriFold is engineered for durability, capable of enduring up to 200,000 folds throughout its lifespan. It will be available in a sleek black color with a generous 512GB storage option in the United States. This price point places the Galaxy Z TriFold above any other smartphone currently available in the U.S. market, outpacing even a fully equipped iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB of storage and Samsung's own Galaxy Z Fold, which retails for $2,000. Customers will be able to purchase the TriFold directly from Samsung Experience Stores and on Samsung.com, as it will not be offered through mobile carriers. Notably, the Galaxy Z TriFold is the first of its kind in the U.S. market, as Huawei’s Mate XT remains unavailable in the country. The smartphone world is also abuzz with rumors that Apple may unveil its own folding phone later this year, hinting at an exciting future for foldable technology.
