Samsung mocks Apple after iPhone 17 series launch: ‘Let us know when it folds’

In a bold move shortly after Apple unveiled its latest iPhone lineup, Samsung has reignited its rivalry with the tech giant. The recent launch includes the new iPhone 17 Air, which Samsung quickly took to social media to critique, using the hashtag #iCant to highlight its own offerings. Reviving a previous quip, Samsung remarked, "Let us know when it folds," suggesting that Apple's innovations are lagging compared to their own foldable technology. Samsung didn't stop there; it also scrutinized Apple's camera capabilities, stating, "48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP," emphasizing its own advanced photography technology. The banter continued with Samsung pointing out the delays in feature rollouts from Apple, saying, "#iCant believe some people had to wait 5 years for Sleep Score." Another playful jab referenced Apple’s latest feature, stating, "[Apple emoji] just announced live translation at Zzz-note. All we can say is, welcome to the party #iCant." Apple's iPhone 17 Air boasts impressive specifications, including a thickness of just 5.6 millimeters, making it slimmer than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge at 5.8 mm. Set to hit the market on September 19, the iPhone 17 Air will start at ₹1,19,900 for the 256GB variant, with additional options of 512GB and 1TB. The device features a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology, offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness levels reaching up to 3,000 nits. Apple claims this model delivers double the outdoor contrast compared to its predecessors, enhancing user experience in bright settings. For durability, the iPhone 17 Air is equipped with Ceramic Shield 2 glass on both sides, touted as Apple's strongest yet, delivering three times the scratch resistance of earlier versions. The phone is powered by the A19 Pro chip, which is also found in the iPhone 17 Pro series. This new chipset includes a 6-core CPU and a 5-core GPU, designed to handle high-performance gaming and improve on-device generative AI functionalities significantly. Stay tuned for more information regarding the prices and features of the iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and Air models.
