Samsung teases Galaxy Z Fold 7 as its thinnest and lightest foldable yet

This foldable smartphone is expected to be officially revealed alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, rumored to be scheduled for July in New York. In a recent blog post, Samsung touted the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as the "thinnest, lightest, and most advanced" model in the Galaxy Z series to date. The teaser features video footage of a device that employs a book-style folding mechanism, clearly pointing to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 rather than its clamshell sibling, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The company promises an "Ultra-level" experience, emphasizing that their engineering and design teams have focused on making this iteration slimmer, lighter, and sturdier than its predecessors. Sources suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could measure a mere 3.9mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded, marking a significant reduction in thickness from the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which measures 5.6mm unfolded and 12.2mm folded. For context, competing foldables like Oppo’s Find N5 measure 4.21mm when unfolded and 8.93mm when folded, while Vivo’s soon-to-be-released X Fold 5 is expected to be 4.3mm unfolded and 9.33mm folded. In addition to the flagship foldables, Samsung is also likely to introduce a Fan Edition (FE) version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
