Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 specs leak ahead of July 9 Unpacked Event

Samsung is gearing up for its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where it is expected to introduce its latest innovations in foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Recent leaks have provided intriguing insights into the specifications of both devices, hinting at sleeker designs and enhanced displays. According to information shared by tipster Setsuna Digital on Weibo, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may boast an impressive 8-inch internal display alongside a 6.5-inch external screen. This model is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, promising high performance. Notably, the Fold 7 is expected to feature a robust aluminum frame and a stylish glass ceramic back panel. When folded, its thickness is projected to be 8.9mm, while it tapers down to just 4.2mm when open, weighing approximately 215 grams. This design would represent a significant reduction in thickness and weight compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which measures 12.1mm when folded and weighs 239 grams. Additionally, a 10MP selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view is anticipated to be included. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also rumored to be receiving several enhancements. It may come equipped with a 4.1-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch internal screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness levels reaching up to 2,600 nits. This represents a substantial upgrade over the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which has a 3.4-inch outer display and a 6.7-inch main display. There are whispers of an upgraded battery capacity as well, with the Z Flip 7 expected to feature a 4,300mAh battery, increasing from the 4,000mAh unit of its predecessor. When closed, the new model is rumored to measure 13.7mm, and when open, it would be just 6.5mm thick, weighing in at 188 grams, thus offering a more streamlined profile. In addition to the spotlight on these new foldable devices, the July 9 event is also likely to showcase updated Galaxy smartwatches and earbuds. Pre-reservations for the upcoming devices have already commenced in India, generating excitement among tech enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates as the event approaches!
