Samsung begins Android 16 based One UI 8 rollout: All you need to know

Samsung has officially initiated the rollout of its One UI 8 skin, now based on Android 16, for users of the Galaxy S25 series. After a series of beta tests, the stable version is finally here, initially available to a limited selection of devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and the newly released Galaxy S25 FE. The first update for the Galaxy S25 series carries the version number S938NKSU5BYI3/S938NOKR5BYI3/S938NKSU5BYI3 and comes in at a substantial size of 3.8 GB. Currently, this rollout is taking place primarily in South Korea, but a global release, including for users in India, is expected soon. According to tipster Tarun Vats, those who participated in the One UI 8 Beta program are the first to receive this update, but it should soon be accessible to all users still on One UI 7 later today. Samsung has also indicated plans to extend the One UI 8 update to older Galaxy models, including devices like the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 FE later this year. In addition, the One UI 8 Watch is set to expand beyond the Galaxy Watch 8 series, although a specific timeline for this release has not yet been established. Earlier this year, Samsung faced backlash for halting the rollout of the One UI 7 update due to a bug that prevented users from accessing their devices. This lack of communication and the subsequent delays left many users frustrated. Now, with the launch of One UI 8, Samsung is looking to regain user trust. Once the update becomes available for your device, you can expect a notification prompting you to download and install the latest version. For those eager to get started, simply navigate to Settings and then Software Update. If the update is ready for your device, you'll see a Download and Install option. It's advisable to back up your device data to ensure safety before proceeding with the update, safeguarding against any potential issues during installation.
