Samsung is gearing up to unveil its latest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, potentially as soon as July 2026. As the launch date approaches, exciting new details about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 have begun to emerge, hinting at a transformative design. This year, Samsung is reportedly making several noteworthy adjustments to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, including a more streamlined build and a lighter overall weight. Sources indicate that the new model may not support the S Pen, a notable change from its predecessors. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to weigh roughly 210 grams, a slight reduction from the previous 215 grams. Additionally, when unfolded, its thickness may be around 4.1 mm. Although these figures might appear minor, the overall user experience could be significantly enhanced, providing improved comfort during daily use. Further design modifications include a redesigned folding mechanism, which is anticipated to allow the device to open more smoothly and effortlessly, avoiding the stiffness or slight bending that users may have experienced before. Additionally, Samsung may opt for a flatter appearance by replacing the current rounded edges with sharper, more rectangular corners. In conjunction with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung is also rumored to introduce a "Wide" variant of the book-style foldable. This model is expected to feature a 4:3 aspect ratio on its inner display and weigh around 200 grams. It is anticipated to be even slimmer, measuring approximately 3.9 mm. Furthermore, the Wide version may boast a dual rear camera setup, including a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera, along with a substantial 4,800 mAh battery. In contrast, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is projected to be equipped with a robust 5,000 mAh battery.
