Samsung Galaxy S26 leak suggests slimmer design and Qi2 wireless charging

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26, anticipated for release in early 2026, is generating buzz with leaked details hinting at its innovative features and design improvements. According to trusted insider @UniverseIce, the smartphone is expected to showcase a remarkably thin profile of just 6.9mm, making it approximately 0.3mm slimmer than its predecessor, the Galaxy S25. Images from the leak reveal a design that includes a triple-camera arrangement housed in a vertical, pill-shaped module, reminiscent of the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 7. Notably, the back of the device appears to feature a circular element, which is likely a built-in magnetic array designed for Qi2 wireless charging. If these details hold true, it would mark a significant milestone for Samsung as the Galaxy S26 would be the first of its kind to receive full Qi2 certification, moving beyond the “Qi2 Ready” status of earlier models that required specialized magnetic cases. While there were previous speculations about the introduction of Pro and Edge variants for the S26, current reports suggest that Samsung will adhere to its established lineup, featuring only the base model, the Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This aligns with the company’s traditional strategy of offering three flagship variants. In terms of display technology, the Galaxy S26 is rumored to sport a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen capable of reaching peak brightness levels of 3,000 nits, reinforcing Samsung's leadership in display innovation. Biometric security is expected to be managed through an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The camera system may include a robust 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens, enhancing the phone’s photographic capabilities. Under the hood, the device is likely to be powered by the Exynos 2600 processor, crafted on a 2nm process, while North American markets may receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 version. Users can expect configurations of up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with the operating system being One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, introducing new design elements and AI enhancements. Connectivity features are anticipated to include 5G support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. The Galaxy S26 is also expected to maintain its IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, along with a battery capacity of 4,300mAh that supports both 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. As the excitement builds for the Galaxy S26, tech enthusiasts are eager to see how these advancements will set new standards in the smartphone market.
