Acclaimed director Gore Verbinski, known for his diverse filmography that includes hits like The Ring and the Pirates of the Caribbean series, is back with a new project that promises to engage audiences in a fresh way. His upcoming film, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, is an absurdist sci-fi dark comedy that appears set to be another standout in his career. The film features Sam Rockwell in the role of the mysterious 'Man from the Future,' who arrives at a diner in Los Angeles appearing disheveled but claiming to be a time traveler from a dystopian future. His mission? To enlist the diner’s patrons in a battle against a rogue artificial intelligence. The locals, however, are skeptical of his story and his appearance. “I come from a nightmare apocalypse,” he declares, trying to justify his look. “This is the height of f*@ing fashion!” Despite their doubts, Rockwell's character manages to rally a few Angelenos to his cause, leading to a series of chaotic events. The film also boasts an impressive supporting cast, including Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Pena, Zazie Beetz, and Juno Temple, among others, in yet-to-be-revealed roles. Written by Matthew Robinson, known for works like The Invention of Lying, this marks Verbinski's first venture into independent filmmaking. Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Briarcliff Entertainment, has lauded the film as “wildly original, endlessly entertaining, and unlike anything audiences have seen before.” With such high expectations, Good Luck, Don’t Die, Have Fun is set to hit theaters on February 13, 2026, and fans are eager to see what this unique story has to offer.
