
In a surprising turn of events, Salesforce has announced that Moonhub, a startup focused on artificial intelligence solutions for recruitment, is not being acquired as initially reported. Instead, Moonhub is set to cease operations, and only a portion of its team will transition to Salesforce. This clarification came from a Salesforce representative who addressed the situation after Moonhub's initial announcement suggested a complete team acquisition. Founded in 2022 by Nancy Xu, a former engineer at Meta, Moonhub developed tools aimed at streamlining the hiring process through AI capabilities, such as candidate identification and onboarding assistance. The company had garnered support, raising $14.4 million from various investors, including Salesforce, and had established a client base that included Fortune 500 companies. Xu expressed optimism about the future, stating that joining Salesforce would accelerate Moonhub's mission and contribute to the enhancement of Salesforce's AI initiatives. This acquisition aligns with Salesforce's recent spree of strategic purchases, including its $8 billion acquisition of Informatica and the acquisition of Convergence.ai, as the company continues to expand its AI offerings in response to the growing integration of AI in human resources, as evidenced by a Gallup poll indicating that 93% of Fortune 500 HR leaders are adopting AI technologies.
