Salesforce stock jumps after company offers rosy forecast for 2030

Salesforce shares experienced a notable increase of up to 5% in after-hours trading following the company's announcement of optimistic financial forecasts for the coming years. The software giant now anticipates revenues exceeding $60 billion by 2030, surpassing the $58.37 billion average predicted by analysts surveyed by LSEG. This forecast does not take into account the expected impact of the upcoming $8 billion acquisition of data management firm Informatica, which was revealed in May and is set to finalize by the end of the fiscal fourth quarter or the beginning of fiscal year 2027. Robin Washington, Salesforce's Chief Operating and Financial Officer, shared insights during the annual Dreamforce conference in San Francisco, stating, "We have had some lower-stage growth for a while. That is re-accelerating." The company is projecting an organic year-over-year revenue growth rate exceeding 10% from fiscal years 2026 to 2030, a rebound from the sub-10% growth seen since mid-2024. Investor sentiment has been shaky, with Salesforce's stock declining by 29% so far in 2025, while the Nasdaq Composite index has risen by 17%. To counteract this trend, Salesforce is banking on increased revenue from its Agentforce software, designed to streamline customer service and various business operations. Introduced last year, Agentforce enables brands to integrate chat-based customer service agents powered by large language models with their internal data. Despite initial enthusiasm, analysts from RBC Capital Markets noted concerns regarding the slower-than-expected adoption of Agentforce, maintaining a hold rating on the stock. In response to the stock's performance, Salesforce plans to initiate a $7 billion share buyback program over the next six months, as Washington indicated. Additionally, the company is focused on enhancing its products to attract more clients. Recently, Salesforce launched Agentforce Voice, which allows agents to handle customer service calls, and announced collaborations with AI developers Anthropic and OpenAI to enhance Agentforce with advanced models. During Dreamforce, Salesforce highlighted successful Agentforce implementations at major companies like FedEx, Pandora, PepsiCo, and Williams Sonoma. Washington projected that by fiscal 2030, the constant currency growth rate for subscription and support revenue, along with the adjusted operating margin, would reach 50. Marc Benioff, the co-founder and CEO of Salesforce, remarked, "We're moving into rarefied air," as he underscored the anticipated benefits from the Informatica deal, which is expected to positively impact adjusted earnings per share in its second year post-completion.
