Rogue Trooperbrings the Genetic Infantry to the silver screen

For nearly five decades, the comic series 2000 AD has captivated science fiction enthusiasts with its thrilling narratives. Originating from the UK, this series has not frequently ventured into film adaptations compared to the iconic superheroes of Marvel and DC. While Judge Dredd has had two cinematic outings, the attempts to revive the character for a television series have not gained traction. However, Dredd is just one of many characters from 2000 AD, and later this year, fans can look forward to a new adaptation as director Duncan Jones, known for his work on Moon, brings another cherished figure to life: Rogue Trooper. A teaser for the film was unveiled today. Rogue Trooper, created by Gerry Findlay-Day and Dave Gibbons, presents a gripping tale of warfare set on the hazardous planet Nu Earth. This bleak landscape, ravaged by conflict between the Southers and the Norts, is so contaminated by chemical warfare that survival on its surface necessitates specialized environmental suits. The Genetic Infantry, blue super soldiers developed by the Southers, are the exception, uniquely engineered to endure the planet's toxic atmosphere.
