On Friday, Roblox, the widely-used online gaming and game creation platform, encountered a significant service outage, impacting thousands of users who reported difficulties accessing the site and enjoying their games. The disruption has been highlighted by outage tracking service Downdetector, which noted a sharp increase in user complaints, signaling a widespread network problem across various regions. At approximately 10:21 AM IST, which aligns with 9:51 PM EST on Thursday, over 29,000 users in the United States logged issues with Roblox. The spike in reports suggests that the outage began late Thursday evening and persisted into Friday. According to data from Downdetector, the primary concern for users was accessing the Roblox website, with 63% of complaints relating to website outages. Additionally, 27% of users faced server connection issues, while 10% encountered problems during gameplay, such as crashes and lag. Major cities like Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York were among the most affected areas. Users took to social media platforms to express their frustrations, reporting login failures, slow loading times, and frequent disconnections while trying to play. This situation is still developing, and further updates are anticipated.
