In an era where efficiency is paramount, one growth operations manager has taken a bold step to enhance productivity through artificial intelligence. Andy Cabasso, who transitioned from law to tech, now leads the charge at ClickUp, where he has developed 37 unique AI agents that significantly streamline his workflow. Cabasso’s journey began with a disillusionment in the legal field, primarily due to the inefficiencies tied to billable hours. Seeking a solution, he founded a digital legal agency that utilized automation to improve service delivery. After a successful acquisition, he turned his focus to growth operations at ClickUp, where he was initially introduced to AI agents. Starting with no experience in coding, Cabasso leveraged the tech stack provided by ClickUp to create a suite of AI assistants. He began with a simple scheduling agent designed to optimize his daily agenda, which led to an expansive development of agents tailored to various tasks. Currently, he actively employs around 15 to 20 of these agents daily, while others are utilized as needed. One remarkable agent analyzes campaign performance, offering insights and recommendations for improvement. Another reviews meeting transcripts and generates follow-up tasks, allowing Cabasso to focus on strategic planning rather than administrative duties. As he continues to innovate, Cabasso has experimented with giving his AI agents distinct personalities. This playful approach has led to the creation of agents modeled after characters like Captain from Star Trek and motivational speaker Matt Foley, adding an element of fun while maintaining functionality. However, he remains cautious, ensuring that personalities do not interfere with the agents' core responsibilities. The transformation in Cabasso's work life has been profound. Tasks that once consumed hours of his day are now managed by his AI team, allowing him to prioritize higher-level strategy and management. As he orchestrates and refines the performance of these agents, he sees this evolution not as a threat to his job but as an exciting shift in role dynamics. The future looks bright for Cabasso and his AI assistants, as he anticipates further developments and enhancements to their capabilities. This innovative approach to productivity not only redefines how work is accomplished but also illustrates the potential of AI in transforming various industries.
