Mappls, an innovative navigation app developed by MapMyIndia, has launched an exciting new feature that enhances the user experience by enabling tracking of public transport routes in major cities across India. This feature, referred to as multimodal public transport routes, integrates metro, rail, and bus routes into a single platform, simplifying travel planning for users. With this update, Mappls now offers comprehensive access to public transport information, including details on bus stations, metro stops, and bus networks. This integration allows travelers to efficiently plan their journeys without the need to switch between multiple apps or websites for transport data. Rakesh Verma, Co-Founder and Managing Director of MapmyIndia, emphasized that the introduction of this feature stems from user feedback. He stated, "The launch of multimodal public transport routes on the Mappls App is a direct outcome of listening to our users. We aim to make the Mappls App more inclusive and accessible for every citizen." In addition to enhancing its features, MapmyIndia is collaborating with official transport authorities and various companies to expand the app’s coverage, ensuring that users have access to accurate and reliable data. Currently, the multimodal public transport route feature is available on the iOS and web versions of Mappls in select cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, among others. The company has also confirmed that an Android version of this feature will be rolled out soon, broadening access for all users.
