Optiemus Infracom Limited has launched RhinoTech, marking the debut of India’s first premium tempered glass screen protector brand, crafted with glass engineered by Corning. This innovative product line, set to be manufactured at Optiemus’ Noida facility, aims to merge Corning’s advanced glass technology with local production capabilities. The RhinoTech products are designed to deliver exceptional durability, clarity, and even boast anti-microbial features. They are set to make waves not only in India but also in international markets. This initiative represents the first instance of such sophisticated screen protection being produced in India with Corning’s engineering expertise. Additionally, RhinoTech offers a one-year unlimited replacement warranty—claimed to be a global first—along with a fog mark for authenticity. Initially targeting high-end smartphones, the range plans to extend to mid-range and budget devices in the upcoming months. Sales are expected to kick off in late September 2025 via the official RhinoTech website and selected retail outlets. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairman of Optiemus Infracom, emphasized that this launch aligns with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, striving to transform the fragmented tempered glass market into a more standardized and quality-focused sector. Sudhir Pillai, Managing Director of Corning India, added that this partnership will provide Indian consumers access to locally produced products that carry the prestigious label of “Engineered by Corning.” Industry projections suggest that the Indian market for tempered glass screen protectors could reach approximately 400 million units, valued at around ₹20,000 crore by 2025. Currently, over 90% of the supply is imported, and the market remains largely unorganised. In July 2025, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) introduced a pioneering standard for chemically tempered glass screen protectors, aiming to enhance product quality and build consumer trust.
