Ganiga will showcase its waste-sorting robots at TechCrunch Disrupt

Ganiga Innovation is poised to transform the recycling landscape with its groundbreaking AI-driven robotic waste management solutions. In a world where less than 10% of plastic is recycled, this Italian startup aims to significantly improve these figures with its innovative products. At the heart of Ganiga's offerings is a fleet of robotic waste bins known as Hoooly. These advanced bins utilize generative AI to accurately distinguish between trash and recyclable materials, ensuring that waste is sorted effectively. Additionally, Ganiga provides a smart lid that can be attached to existing bins, allowing them to gain the same sorting capabilities as their standalone counterparts. Furthermore, the company has developed software that helps businesses monitor their waste generation. This tool not only tracks waste but also provides actionable insights to help organizations minimize their waste output. Ganiga will showcase its technologies at the Startup Battlefield competition during TechCrunch Disrupt 2025, scheduled from October 27 to 30 in San Francisco. Nicolas Zeoli, Ganiga's founder and CEO, has long aspired to create a company that makes a significant impact, akin to tech giants like Facebook and Apple. His decision to focus on waste management stems from the pressing issues he observed in Italy, where waste problems are particularly pronounced. "We all need to reclaim this problem," Zeoli asserted, highlighting the staggering statistic that over 100 million tons of plastic are produced globally each year, with only 9% recycled. Since its inception in 2021 and the creation of its first prototype in 2022, Ganiga has made significant strides. The company began selling its bins in 2024 and has already sold over 120 units to high-profile clients, including Google and several major airports across Europe. With a reported revenue of $500,000 in 2024 and an impressive $750,000 in just the first nine months of 2025, Ganiga is on a growth trajectory. The startup has secured $1.5 million in pre-seed funding and is currently seeking to raise a $3 million seed round. In November, Ganiga plans to launch Hooolyfood, a software product designed to analyze food waste through camera images. Looking ahead, Zeoli expressed ambitions to expand into the U.S. market, with plans to potentially relocate the company’s headquarters there by 2026. "Ganiga is the first startup globally to equip an entire airport with smart bins," he noted, emphasizing the company’s readiness to meet market demands with its innovative solutions. For those interested in learning more about Ganiga and witnessing a range of pitches and workshops, TechCrunch Disrupt offers an excellent opportunity to connect and explore the latest advancements in technology and business.
