A London-based startup, Jack & Jill, has successfully raised $20 million to enhance the job recruitment landscape using artificial intelligence. This innovative company has developed two AI agents designed to streamline the process of matching job seekers with potential employers. The first agent, named Jack, assists job seekers by collecting information from their LinkedIn profiles, resumes, and through a 20-minute introductory conversation. Once equipped with this data, Jack scours the internet for suitable job openings, offers coaching, and even conducts mock interviews to prepare candidates. On the other side of the equation is Jill, the second AI agent, which collaborates with companies to understand their specific hiring needs. Jill reviews job descriptions and engages in discussions with the internal talent team to grasp the qualities they seek in candidates. This AI agent can also evaluate applicants, source potential candidates from platforms like LinkedIn, and facilitate initial interviews. These two agents are not only capable of working independently but can also communicate with one another, enabling seamless introductions via email. According to Matthew Wilson, co-founder and CEO, the key insight behind Jack & Jill is the ability to merge human-like understanding with technological scalability. Frustrated by inefficiencies in the recruitment industry, Wilson and co-founder Saaras Mehan established Jack & Jill just six months ago. The platform has already attracted over 49,000 job seekers and boasts partnerships with numerous companies, including Airtable, Airwallex, and TrueLayer. Job seekers can access the service for free, while Jack & Jill charges companies a 10% fee based on the base salary of successful hires. Wilson believes that AI will significantly disrupt various roles within recruitment, though he emphasizes that human involvement remains crucial for high-quality conversations and strategic decisions. AI is set to take over less value-added tasks, such as scrolling through LinkedIn profiles and CV reviews. With a team of 12 employees, Jack & Jill is leveraging AI technology in various areas, including coding and marketing video generation. The startup is part of a burgeoning sector that saw $2.8 billion invested in agentic AI startups globally in the first half of 2025, highlighting the growing interest in AI applications across diverse fields. Jack & Jill’s seed funding round was spearheaded by Creandum and received support from notable investors such as Dig Ventures, Entrepreneur First, and many others, including over 50 angel investors from renowned companies. The funds will primarily be used to expand operations in Europe and the San Francisco area.
