The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) has introduced NamAIste, a pioneering generative AI knowledge engine specifically designed for the hospitality sector. This innovative platform, known as IIHM HospitalityGPT, was developed in partnership with Entiovi Technologies based in Kolkata and is being celebrated as a significant advancement in hospitality education and decision-making. What sets NamAIste apart from typical AI models is its foundation on a hospitality-focused large language model (LLM), which has been meticulously trained on data sourced from over 60 countries. This allows it to provide real-time insights into operational trends, service innovations, and best practices within the industry. NamAIste is not intended for public use as a chatbot; rather, it serves as a specialized knowledge engine aimed at educators, students, and industry professionals. Dr. Suborno Bose, the Chairman of IIHM, remarked, "With NamAIste, IIHM is at the forefront of AI integration in hospitality training and management. A new era is dawning in hospitality, where the synergy between technology and human interaction will benefit the industry and, most importantly, countless hospitality students worldwide." Dr. Bose highlighted the global significance of the launch, asserting, "NamAIste is an Indian innovation, created by Indians for a global audience. If the United States can boast Google and China has DeepSeek, India now proudly introduces NamAIste to the world." Sanjoy Chatterjee, Director of Entiovi Technologies, emphasized the platform's unique knowledge sourcing approach. "Our entire system is based on open-source technology, and its uniqueness lies in the creation of a knowledge base from 60 countries. Picture a student in Bengal inquiring about Japanese culinary history and receiving responses derived from Japanese documents translated into Bengali." Differentiating itself from public chatbots, NamAIste draws from institutionally verified data, encompassing hotel standard operating procedures, culinary expertise from chefs, and documentation from hospitality organizations. Currently, this closed-system platform is being selectively introduced within the education sector and among relevant stakeholders.
