Lovable just backed a company that’s looking to bring vibe coding to hardware

Lovable, known for its AI-driven app development platform, has made a significant investment in Atech, a Danish startup aiming to transform hardware creation through a concept called "vibe coding." This backing comes as part of an impressive $800,000 pre-seed funding round, which also included contributions from notable investors such as a16z’s scout fund, Sequoia Scout Fund, and Nordic Makers. In an interview with TechCrunch, Atech’s customer experience lead, Gustav Hugod, detailed the platform's straightforward approach. Users can purchase a starter hardware kit tailored to their project directly from Atech's website. By engaging with an AI chatbot, users describe their hardware ideas, and the AI generates the necessary code to create a working prototype. Hugod emphasized the diverse range of Atech's user base, stating, "We cater to everyone from four-year-olds constructing cars to teams developing hydrogen synthesis plants that require precise voltage sensing." Traditionally, creating hardware prototypes has demanded years of expertise or access to skilled yet costly engineers. However, Hugod believes that just as software development has become more accessible, so too will hardware creation. He asserted, "In a democratized world, hardware must be available to everyone." The fresh capital acquired through this funding will be directed towards research and development, as well as enhancing marketing efforts and expanding the team.
