Last week, Google unveiled its latest advancement, the Nano Banana Pro, which boasts enhanced text rendering and improved character consistency. This innovative model has quickly risen to the top of various benchmarks, positioning itself as one of the leading tools for AI-driven image generation and editing available today. However, unlike its predecessor, users of Nano Banana Pro will find their free image generation options somewhat limited. For those without a Google AI subscription—currently offered at no cost to Jio users—exploring alternatives becomes essential. One prominent option is Adobe's integration of Nano Banana Pro into both Firefly AI and the widely-used photo-editing software, Photoshop. Adobe has announced that users can now upload up to six reference images to Nano Banana Pro, allowing the AI to merge and refine these elements into a unified composition. Additionally, within Firefly Boards, users can harness the power of Nano Banana Pro to visualize campaign concepts by uploading text, images, and icons, effectively simulating real-world applications such as billboards. On the Photoshop front, Adobe is leveraging Nano Banana Pro to enhance the Generative Fill feature—an AI tool that enables users to add, remove, or alter images simply through text prompts. Adobe emphasized that this collaboration allows creative professionals to transition smoothly from generative experimentation to detailed refinements using layers, masks, and selections, all while maintaining their workflow. While Adobe has not specified the limit on free edits available with Nano Banana Pro in Firefly, initial testing revealed that users could edit a minimum of three images. A key advantage of Firefly is its ability to let users select specific aspect ratios, such as 16:9 or 3:4, during editing and image generation. This feature offers an edge over direct usage of Nano Banana Pro via Gemini, which has occasionally struggled with adhering to aspect ratio instructions, requiring users to seek alternatives for adjustments.
