Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE unveil ‘iPhone Pocket’: A phone case you can wear!

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Apple has teamed up with the esteemed design house ISSEY MIYAKE to introduce the iPhone Pocket, a stylish accessory that redefines how users carry their iPhones. Unveiled on November 11, 2025, this innovative product is a testament to the shared values of craftsmanship, simplicity, and functionality between the two brands. Inspired by the Japanese design philosophy of 'a piece of cloth,' the iPhone Pocket is crafted to accommodate all iPhone models alongside other small essentials. The official launch is set for November 14, with availability through Apple.com and select retail locations worldwide. At the heart of the iPhone Pocket's design is its unique 3D-knitted structure, a hallmark of ISSEY MIYAKE's design ethos. This ribbed, flexible material not only fits any iPhone snugly but also has room for additional items like AirPods and keys. Some have affectionately dubbed it an 'iPhone sock' due to its cozy, form-fitting nature. While it fully envelops the device, the open textile design allows users to catch a glimpse of notifications without fully removing the phone. Users can wear the Pocket on their body or attach it to bags, with options for a short strap available in eight colors priced at $149.95 (~Rs. 13,300) and a long strap in three colors at $229.95 (~Rs. 20,400). The collaboration aims to foster a deeper emotional connection between the user and their device. Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director at MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, emphasized this bond, stating, "The design of the iPhone Pocket reflects the joy of wearing your iPhone in a personalized manner." Apple’s Vice President of Industrial Design, Molly Anderson, praised the partnership, highlighting the blend of craftsmanship and design that both brands embody. She described the accessory as a clever addition, with colors intentionally chosen to complement all iPhone models, allowing for personalized combinations. This launch draws a parallel to Apple’s earlier foray into wearable phone accessories with the iPod Socks back in 2004, which were much simpler and priced at just $29. The iPhone Pocket stands as a modern, luxurious interpretation of this concept, merging functionality with high-fashion appeal. The product will be available in select Apple stores across France, Greater China, the US, UK, Singapore, Italy, South Korea, and Japan, though there are currently no plans for an official release in India.
