A passionate group of developers has successfully reestablished online gameplay for the PC version of Concord, a team-based shooter that Sony abruptly discontinued just two weeks after its launch last summer. However, the team behind this fan-driven server initiative is now restricting new access following a series of DMCA takedown requests from Sony concerning sample gameplay footage. The project, known as 'Concord Delta,' has garnered attention for its innovative approach to reverse-engineering the game’s now-defunct server API, enabling functional multiplayer matches over the recent weekend. Developer Red shared updates in the game’s Discord channel, noting, "The project is still a work in progress; it’s playable but has its bugs. Once our servers are fully configured, we will start private playtesting." To join the 'Concord Delta' servers, players must possess a legitimate PC copy of the game, which has become quite scarce. Reports indicate that Concord sold approximately 25,000 copies across PC and PS5 before its shutdown, a figure that does not include the many players who opted for full refunds after the official servers were closed. In an effort to showcase the revival, Red posted two gameplay videos on YouTube, humorously acknowledging, “Don’t mind my horrible aim; I’ve spent so much time reverse engineering that I no longer have time to actually play the game.” Unfortunately, these videos were swiftly removed due to copyright claims from MarkScan Enforcement, a company known for its collaborations with Sony on DMCA issues.
