Capcom has officially kicked off pre-orders for the highly anticipated Resident Evil Requiem, the newest installment in the iconic survival horror series. Set to debut on February 27, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5, players can choose between the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. To celebrate the announcement, Capcom has shared a captivating “Road to Requiem” video that chronicles the franchise's impressive 30-year history, beginning with its initial release in 1996 on the original PlayStation. Fans who pre-order will receive an exclusive bonus: Grace’s Costume: Apocalypse outfit. The Digital Deluxe Edition enhances the gaming experience even further, featuring five unique costumes, including the Lady Dimitrescu-inspired Grace’s Costume: Dimitrescu, along with four weapon skins, two screen filters, two charms, an audio pack, and additional collectible files. Resident Evil Requiem introduces players to Grace Ashcroft, an FBI agent and the latest hero in the Resident Evil saga. Known for her keen analytical skills, Grace finds herself in a chilling predicament that will challenge her instincts and fortitude. The game promises to include the franchise's signature elements of suspenseful exploration, intricate puzzles, and careful resource management, alongside the option to switch between first- and third-person perspectives to cater to various gameplay preferences. The PS5 version will leverage the DualSense controller's advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, providing an even more immersive experience during both combat and exploration. Capcom also reflected on the franchise's enduring relationship with PlayStation, from the original Resident Evil, featuring characters like Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, to the expansions of the narrative in Resident Evil 2 and 3, and the evolution showcased in later titles such as Resident Evil 4, 7: Biohazard, and Village. As the release of Resident Evil Requiem approaches, Capcom is poised to deliver a blend of fresh terror and nostalgic elements for both long-time fans and newcomers. This upcoming title aims to honor nearly three decades of horror legacy while paving the way for a new chapter in the franchise.
