Replit, the innovative coding platform that has captured the attention of developers, has achieved a remarkable funding milestone. On Wednesday, the company disclosed that it successfully raised $400 million in a Series D funding round, elevating its valuation to an impressive $9 billion. This significant round was spearheaded by Georgian Partners, a previous investor, and included contributions from a diverse group of notable backers such as G Squared, Prysm Capital, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Accenture Ventures, Okta Ventures, and Databricks Ventures. In a post shared on X, Replit’s founder and CEO, Amjad Masad, highlighted that among the supporters are celebrity angel investors, including basketball star Shaquille O’Neal and actor Jared Leto. This announcement comes just six months after the company reached a $3 billion valuation following a $250 million funding round in September. At that time, Replit indicated it was on a trajectory toward achieving $150 million in annualized revenue. While Replit has not updated its current annual recurring revenue (ARR) figures, it expressed aspirations to reach an ARR of $1 billion by year-end. Masad previously mentioned to TechCrunch that the company's rapid ascent followed almost a decade of hard work, which included a pivotal shift from catering to professional developers to embracing a broader audience of non-programmers.
