Replit has successfully secured a whopping $250 million in funding, pushing its valuation to an impressive $3 billion. Unlike many rapidly expanding tech companies, Replit has not frequently sought venture capital, raising questions about its future funding strategies. The last time the company raised capital was in 2023, when it brought in around $100 million, resulting in a post-money valuation of approximately $1.16 billion. Overall, Replit has gathered close to $478 million, according to PitchBook estimates. Founded in 2016 by Amjad Masad, Faris Masad, and designer Haya Odeh, Replit has seen remarkable growth recently. The company reported an extraordinary leap in annualized revenue, skyrocketing from $2.8 million to $150 million in less than a year. This marks a significant increase from the $100 million annual recurring revenue (ARR) reported in June, as highlighted by Masad on social media. The latest funding round was led by Prysm Capital, with notable contributions from Amex Ventures and Google’s AI Futures Fund. Previous backers, including Y Combinator, David Sacks' Craft, Andreessen Horowitz, and Coatue, also joined the effort. Google’s participation is particularly significant, as Replit has formed a strong partnership with Google Cloud, with many of the applications developed on its platform being hosted there. Microsoft has also recognized Replit's growing popularity, offering it as an option on Azure since July.
