Ramp in talks to hit $40B+ valuation, 6 months after reaching $32B

Ramp, the corporate spend management startup, is generating significant interest from investors as it prepares for a potential new round of funding. Sources reveal that the company is negotiating to secure $750 million, which could elevate its valuation to over $40 billion. However, the deal is still in the works, meaning details could shift. The startup's journey has been remarkable; just last November, Ramp successfully raised $300 million, achieving a post-money valuation of $32 billion, with support from Lightspeed and an employee tender offer. Earlier that year, it also announced a $500 million Series E-2, valued at $22.5 billion, led by Iconiq, shortly after closing a $200 million Series E at a $16 billion valuation through Founders Fund. Ramp’s financial performance has been equally impressive. CEO Eric Glyman reported that the company reached $1 billion in revenue, effectively doubling its income within a year. Glyman has been a strong advocate for integrating AI into Ramp’s spend management solutions, promoting features that automatically identify and block out-of-policy purchases, detect fraudulent activities, and allocate funds to interest-bearing investments. This blend of rapid growth and innovative AI applications appears to have captured the attention of venture capitalists, setting the stage for another successful fundraising year.
