Qualcomm showcases automotive innovations at Snapdragon for India: Auto Day

Qualcomm has strengthened its dedication to India's automotive landscape by showcasing a range of cutting-edge connected and intelligent mobility solutions during its prominent event, Snapdragon for India: Auto Day. The occasion saw notable attendance from key industry figures, including Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Minister for Road Transport and Highways, who was the Chief Guest. The event featured leading Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, and Hero MotoCorp, underscoring Qualcomm's strategic partnerships in the region. Attendees were introduced to the Snapdragon Digital Chassis suite, which includes innovations like Snapdragon Cockpit, Snapdragon Ride, Auto Connectivity, and Car-to-Cloud services. This impressive suite has already been integrated into over 350 million vehicles worldwide. In India, Qualcomm’s automotive technologies are supporting nearly all major automakers, with development taking place at engineering centers in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Gurugram. Nakul Duggal, Group GM of Automotive and Industrial & Embedded IoT at Qualcomm Technologies, emphasized that the company's platforms have established new benchmarks for safety and smart mobility in India. He further assured that Qualcomm remains “deeply committed to advancing automotive intelligence” within the country. Savi Soin, President of Qualcomm India, highlighted the company's initiative of “Make from India, For India, and For the World,” aligning with India’s aspirations to emerge as a leader in connected vehicle technologies. He stated, “Our strategic partnerships with leading mobility OEMs and suppliers empower the local ecosystem to spearhead the mobility revolution.” At the event, Qualcomm also showcased its ongoing collaborations with major automakers. Tech entrepreneur and FYI.AI founder will.i.am presented innovative AI-driven features, FYI RAiDiO and Melodic Drive, which are designed to blend creative and musical experiences within Snapdragon-equipped vehicles. This technology, demonstrated in Mahindra’s electric vehicle lineup, transforms driver movements into real-time musical outputs. The event marked the first demonstration of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride in India, featuring contributions from key automotive suppliers such as Bosch, Tata Elxsi, Visteon, and ZF. These advancements aim to enhance safety, driver comfort, and connectivity across India's diverse driving conditions. Executives from partner companies praised Qualcomm's role in fostering innovation, as the company continues to build its R&D presence and expand local partnerships, with the vision of transforming India into a global hub for connected mobility and automotive innovation.
